About Us

Set in the grand landscape of Wyoming’s cowboy country, Old Baldy Club began as one man’s vision of a retreat where friends could gather in comfort to test their skills on the golf course and along a trout stream. Fifty years later, Old Baldy Club still pays homage to its founding traditions, while catering to the broad range of interests of today’s clientele. More than just a golf or fly fishing club, Old Baldy combines a variety of outdoor activities with fine dining and superior accommodations.

This scenic and peaceful locale, named after a nearby mountain, is an exclusive private club in a secluded and quiet valley surrounded by snowcapped peaks just outside the town of Saratoga in south-central Wyoming. Whether it’s a rendezvous with friends, a family reunion or a romantic getaway that brings you to Old Baldy, the club is dedicated to providing you with superb outdoor experiences and excellent service. Our dedicated and professional staff assures members and their guests a first-class experience with a personal touch.

Executive Chef, Victor Gallegos, provides both a Dinner and Grill menu with specials each day. Only the finest ingredients are used, and received daily to ensure freshness. The variety of cultural cuisine provides for the tastes of all. Any specific dietary needs will be accommodated, as well as special requests and catering. We are truly blessed to find ourselves located in one of the most diverse cold water fisheries in the west. The Upper North Platte River Valley is home to two major western rivers, the North Platte and Encampment Rivers. Between these two rivers there are 65 miles of designated “Blue Ribbon” waters flowing through our valley. From boulder filled pocket waters to classic western runs and riffles these freestone waters are full of hungry rainbow and brown trout. The summer mayfly, caddis fly and stone fly hatches fill the air and bring eager trout to the surface.

The Old Baldy Club’s fishing program offers you access to some of the best guided fishing opportunities you will find anywhere. We specialize in taking a personal approach by providing our members and guests with a unique fishing and outdoor adventure experience. Whether you are an expert fly caster or a beginning angler our professional guides, with their years of experience, will provide you with an outing that is tailored to your expectations and skill level. We like to think we are a very patient, instructive, knowledgeable and most of all a fun group of guides within which to spend time.

We typically offer half or all day fishing excursions, but can customize departure and return times to meet your group’s schedule. Depending on river and fishing conditions we will give you the best chance at angling success.

We also offer instructional lessons to help you improve your fly casting and expand your fishing knowledge base. It is important to stress that we can accommodate nearly any special request and tailor just about any trip to suit your needs, just give us a call and let us help you plan your next adventure.

The untamed headwaters of the North Platte await; come join us on your next fly fishing or outdoor adventure!

  • 20" Club

A 20" trout is a true predator in its environment and most likely is an apex predator in our nearby fisheries. 20" is an attainable number since every season we have plenty of trout landed that fall north of the 20" mark.
